The Five Pillars
Five things you can control every day.
Five things that tend to lead to a good day.
Sometimes even a great one.
Five things I've used while rebuilding from the wildfire.
Pillar One: Sweat
Get a workout in.
Nothing fancy required.
Just move.
Endorphins don't care about your circumstances.
They show up regardless.
Pillar Two: Connect
Hear someone you care about's voice.
Not a text.
Not an email.
An actual conversation with another human.
It makes all the difference.
Pillar Three: Grow
Learn something new.
From a book, podcast, YouTube video.
Anything that expands your thinking.
Growth is the opposite of stagnation.
Even small doses matter.
Pillar Four: Unplug
At minimum 10 minutes with no technology.
No dings.
No notifications.
No screens.
A walk works best for most.
Pillar Five: Finish
Make meaningful progress on something.
Press send.
Complete something.
Cross it off.
Watch momentum build.
The Reality
You might get most of these done before 9 AM.
From there, everything else feels downhill in a good way.
Even on your hardest days.
Even when everything else feels uncertain.
