🥷 A Man’s Guide To Cancel Culture

We're diving deep today.

We're tackling the societal phenomenon known as: cancel culture.

Cancel culture is the trend of 'canceling' people, publicly shaming them, and boycotting them due to perceived wrongdoings or unpopular opinions.

Most times this is amplified by social media.

In essence, it's a modern-day witch hunt.

It can be terrifying to potentially lose everything based on:

  • Something you said or allegedly said 20 years ago

  • Who you voted for

  • Disagreeing with a new policy at the office

  • Your opinion on vaccines

  • What books you do or don’t want in your kid's school

  • Your opinions on competitive sports

  • Etc.

But here's the thing:

Each time you let your principles slide so you can avoid being ‘canceled,’ a part of you, the authentic 'you', withers away.

At Man Morning, we value integrity.

We have solid values and we’re not willing to compromise them.

We don't trade authenticity for approval.

Look, I get it.

It's comfortable to blend into the crowd, to play it safe. But at what cost?

This isn't about being rigid or insensitive. It's about the courage to be authentic.

It's about engaging in meaningful dialogue, instead of conforming out of fear.

This is a great time to remember that you can still learn from, and respect someone you disagree with.

But by day's end, you must respect the person staring back at you in the mirror.

Standing for what you believe in may invite temporary discomfort. But it's a small price to pay.

It's the cost of integrity.

It's the pride of staying true to who you are, even when facing the hurricane of cancel culture.

In our social media-powered world, everyone has an opinion and a platform to express it.

It can be daunting to face criticism from the masses, or even your family, but it’s important to remember that pleasing everyone is an impossible task.

Be respectful, be understanding, and always be open to learning.

But don't lose yourself in all of the noise.

Your values and integrity are not up for a popularity contest.

They are yours and you have every right to protect them.

So, be willing to stand for something - even if it means standing alone.

The day you start compromising your principles is the day you stop growing.

And sometimes, growth means standing tall in the storm.

🪗 Making Life More Enjoyable

Life is so much more enjoyable when you live it as though you’ve already been canceled.
