🪂 LIFE CHANGING EVENTS

You’ve heard the stories of men experiencing life-changing events.

  • Getting a divorce

  • Filing for bankruptcy

  • Surviving a serious car accident

  • Losing a loved one

  • Getting a DUI

  • Beating a fatal disease . . .

It’s typical with these types of events that a man will be forced to make some serious changes in his life.

Imagine if you experienced a life-changing event. The kind that would require you to answer this question:

If you had a near-death experience, how would your life change?

Odds are you would easily be able to finish the following statements:

  • I wouldn't worry about . . .

  • I would travel to . . .

  • I would spend more time with . . .

  • I wouldn’t waste time on . . .

  • I would finally . . .

When you come face to face with what might be the end of your life, only the important things will come to mind (a great read on this topic).

Don’t wait for a life-altering event to start living the life you’re meant to live.

Waiting is like dripping water on a blazing fire.

The fire is still going, but with each passing moment, it gets smaller and smaller.

So, what are you waiting for?

Most men avoid thinking about topics like this. But you’re not like most men.

Remember:

You are the life-changing event your life is waiting for.

This photo is from a recent Man Morning meetup in Los Angeles.

The theme of the conversation was based on a previous issue of this newsletter:

What’s one of the best things to happen to you, that wouldn’t appear on your resume or the internet, that has greatly shaped and influenced who you are?

As a constraint to the question, we couldn’t use traditional things like marriage, buying a home, having kids, graduating from college, etc., as our best things.

What the men shared was powerful! We all learned something new about one other and deepened our bond.

💬 SMART WORDS TO CONSIDER

“Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive – the risk to be alive and express what we really are.”
