🛫 IT’S NOT WHO YOU KNOW…

You’ve heard the saying:

"It’s not what you know, it’s who you know."

While it's true that having a strong network can be beneficial, there's a small yet crucial tweak needed for this statement.

"It’s not what you know, it’s who knows what you want."

Think about it.

You may know a lot of people, but if they don't know what you want (or how you feel about something), it'll do you absolutely no good.

For example:

If your community doesn’t know you started a new company, it’ll be impossible for them to help spread the word.

Or if your business network doesn’t know you’re looking for a new job, it’s hard for them to connect you to new opportunities or make introductions.

It's the same if your boss doesn’t know you’re dissatisfied with your job and are thinking about quitting, they’ll assume everything is fine.

As you can see, it doesn't matter who you know if they don't know how they can help.

This is where the power of communication comes in.

By being open with those around you, you create opportunities for support, growth, and success.

So how do you do this?

First, be clear.

Instead of being vague or beating around the bush, be direct about what you want and what help you need.

Second, be vulnerable.

It’s not always easy asking for help. Just remember it’s hard for someone to help you if they don’t know you need support.

Third, be grateful.

Consider it a blessing to have people in your life who are happy to have your back and are excited to see you win.

Remember, it's not just who you know, it's who knows what you want.

🎧 WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO

What do the longest-living and happiest people in the world have in common?

They all share one common trait: a sense of community.

When you have a tribe of men to lean on, it gives you a sense of belonging, connection, and value outside of yourself that can open up a wealth of possibilities.

On one of the top health and wellness podcasts in the world, a Man Morning crew talks about the life-changing force of community. They cover:

  • Why it’s important to check in in on your “strong friends.”
