🤖 What AI Can & Can't Do

Artificial Intelligence is being touted as the solution to all our problems. But is it really?
AI is the marriage of science and technology.
In a short amount of time, it has brought about a revolution of unparalleled proportions.
It promises to unlock a future that was once unimaginable.
With its ability to recognize patterns and analyze vast amounts of data, AI can:
Detect cancer before doctors
Control vehicles to drive roads and avoid obstacles
Write complex computer code
Identify nutrient deficiencies in soil
Understand and interpret human language
Use filters to make you look like a teenager
And so much more
And … We’ve Got Some Breaking News:
Even with the promises of AI, the things that matter most in life are still up to you.
AI can’t force you not to hit snooze on your alarm clock or help you become your own benefactor.
It can’t weather the storms of life for you.
AI can’t force you to eat healthy, go for a run in the unseen hours, or keep you away from your vices.
It can’t give your spouse your absolute best or make her laugh.
It can’t put in the effort required for your friendships.
Nope.
All of that is up to you - and this is a good thing.
Despite its remarkable capabilities, Artificial Intelligence is a tool, not a solution.
It provides us with information and recommendations, but it is ultimately up to us to act on these insights.
You are the one who has to make the decisions, take the actions, and put in the effort.
Without getting our hands dirty, AI is nothing but a bunch of algorithms and data points.
The determination, discipline, and grit that are necessary for success cannot be automated.
🧘 Pushing Right Back
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
🪓 6 Metrics Of Manhood

1. Strength: Clear-headedness, composure, and stability in the midst of uncertainty—not to be confused with chest-thumping or machismo acts of power.
2. Wisdom: Allowing yourself to be open to and shaped by experience. Not being scared of change; and not being scared to change.
3. Vulnerability: Putting yourself out there. All of it. Even, and perhaps especially, the imperfections and flaws that make you human.
4. Emotional flexibility: Feeling your feelings, being able to name them, talk about them, and let them move through you. Not repress them and not becoming fused with them.
5. Humility: Knowing what you don’t know, which, for almost all of us, is the vast majority of everything. Understanding that your view of the world is merely one of billions. Being curious instead of narrow, open instead of closed.
6. Confidence: Not feeling the need to intimidate, one-up, or make others feel bad in order to feel okay with yourself. Knowing that when you aren’t feeling okay with yourself that’s fine too—and sometimes the best thing to do is ask for help.
